Very excited about Spring 2010
It will see the launch of my new range 'Lost and Found'
I've commissioned some lace to be made, i've got shells ready to be polished up and made into beautiful necklaces and bracelets.
The collection will evoke memories of holidays and times gone by.

Busy Christmas Fairs

Well, I had my first jewellery fairs this week. One at local shop, Smash Bang Wallop, a dedicated late night shopping affair for folks looking for jewellery from local makers. A sucess given it wasn't hugely advertised. Then Saturday saw the White Hart pub open its garden (luckily heated) to a few more local designer makers. With cards, toys and cushions as well as little old me with my jewellery.

Both events saw lots of positive feedback and interest in my pieces (as well as some sales, thanksfully) so I'm hoping 2010 will bring more craft fairs and fingers crossed some shops will be interested in my work.

Come see me at the Chelsea We Make London Craft Fair this Saturday 5th December to pick up Christmas pressies and treats for yourself!

internet let down

Hi Folks

Huge thanks to everyone that sent in images and illustrations, unfortunately I filed them all neatly away into an email folder and we've lost internet connection at home so I cannot now access them. 

VERY ANNOYING.

AS SOON as our internet is back up and running I will be in touch with the winner.

Call out to all you creatives: Competition time!

PROBLEM:  I am no Picasso or Dali and I need some illustrations of Poppies for some promotional material/stationary. I could go to istock, but I'd rather have something more unique...

SOLUTION: I'm launching a competition!

BRIEF:

To design a series of between 6 and 9 images of Poppies to be used in promotional material and stationary. 

DEADLINE:

Monday 21st September

PRIZE:

The winner will get a Poppies and Pearls sterling silver bangle or pair of Pearl Earrings, for the boys among you I can have a think or you can take a bangle or earrings for mothers/girlfriends/sisters - would make a fab Christmas gift!

and in the beginning

So, this is my first post. Been meaning to get round to it for ages and the bank holiday has brought a free day so i'm using it for all things Poppies and Pearls.

Poppies and Pearls came about via my lovely family and friends asking me to make them pieces of jewellery so I am opening up my 'workshop' for business (and by workshop i mean a beautiful hand made workbench in my spare room!).

The name Poppies and Pearls was inspired by this necklace I made as a birthday present, after another friend asked me to make it into a ring it has now become my most popular piece. Check out the Poppy and Pearl ring on www.poppiesandpearls.com
